It’s been a while since I’ve had an opportunity to pose here…..

The new house is coming out rather nicely! The little one has a swing-set now, we’re just waiting for it to not be raining outside so the grass can be mowed so we can finish putting that sucker up. It’s partially built on our patio at the moment. On top of house stuff school has been getting super de duper busy as well. At first it was pretty easy but now….. wow…. I can’t even begin to get into how complex graphic design gets when your into your final year. Now that I’m into a 2 week break, a much-needed one, I can finally do a few things that I’ve wanted to do. Me being productive = tutorials and posts for you! Yay for productivity and caffeine!

Around Christmas time I had finally finished knitting a toy hammock for my little girls room. The thing was great for the first few months then just started stretching and loosing its shape and didn’t like to hold the stuffed animal army well. This could have partially been because I may have mucked up the knitting a bit at some point but I’m not 100% sure on that. Anyways, I was entirely too lazy bogged down with a couple different things to sit down and knit another one which I may or may not have to do again when/if it got stretched out so I just decided to make one out of fabric.

Today I made two pillows for our pseudo L-shaped couch. Basically we just put two nice futons together, layed one flat and put it against the wall and put the other with the back up right against it. It is a great idea! Unless you don’t have pillows for the back.

A cuddle blanket for my daughter.

I’ve heard the same question for a while from different moms and dads. “What do I do with my babies old clothes?” Why make them into a wonderful cuddle blanket of course! Some clothes you can donate, sure. However, babies are messy and clothes get stained in places or stretched out a bit. Don’t throw them out! When kids start spending the night places and spending weekends with extended family, they need something familiar. Imagine Linus from Charlie Brown. What’s more familiar than a blanket made of clothes that they are probably all too familiar with.

Not to mention when the little angels get older and go off to college or what not…. Well…. Then mommy (and/or daddy) have a comfort blanket 🙂 Here is the start of my little girls cuddle blanket.
