Spunky Adventures! Tales of Moving, Projects, and Fitness… OH MY!

This is a mostly photo tutorial of how I created my second ever quilt. First was my daughters little cuddle blanket.

Yes, I was ambitious in creating a queen sized one. It was a need. My husband and I got really tired of only having one comforter for our bed and I wasn’t about to go out and spend $60+ on a comforter set that I wasn’t 100% in love with.

This certainly took a lot of time and patience to complete. The time in my day is very limited for crafting and all the other endeavors I have going at the moment. There are some things that I probably could have done differently, but overall my hubby and I are thrilled with the result. Other than it being a very warm blanket… LOL! Guess we’ll just have to turn on the AC at night. At least till we move here in August.

Anyways, here is a basic little tutorial. Enjoy 🙂

A cuddle blanket for my daughter.

I’ve heard the same question for a while from different moms and dads. “What do I do with my babies old clothes?” Why make them into a wonderful cuddle blanket of course! Some clothes you can donate, sure. However, babies are messy and clothes get stained in places or stretched out a bit. Don’t throw them out! When kids start spending the night places and spending weekends with extended family, they need something familiar. Imagine Linus from Charlie Brown. What’s more familiar than a blanket made of clothes that they are probably all too familiar with.

Not to mention when the little angels get older and go off to college or what not…. Well…. Then mommy (and/or daddy) have a comfort blanket 🙂 Here is the start of my little girls cuddle blanket.
