I just started a challenge to help myself along in getting out of this artist rut that I’ve been in. Wish me luck!
You can find the challenge here at Creative Every Day. Even if it’s no longer the first of the year you can still join. Seems like it will be something that’s really going to help with my college classes and, like I said, get me out of this horrible rut I’ve been in for the past X amount of YEARS. Yes, I said years. Artist block for about 4 years is just depressing. HaHa! Not really depressing to its literal definition but seeing my past artwork compared to my current stuff is a big old frowny face.

Also, keep an eye out because I’m starting a separate blog/portfolio website that will be showcasing the really good stuff. It will be up as soon as I fill up my current portfolio and get its contents under copyright… because after one particular class I had, I’m paranoid just a tad. That and it’s just a good idea when your going to be in the Graphic Design business.

When I started this website I posted photo’s of my craft space. This was back when we lived in Hawaii and I had more room. You can find that post here .
Now that we’re in a new place, and have been for a while, I get to have a different corner. Since this new apartment is significantly smaller (we’re talking 1600sq ft down to 995sq ft) I had to get a little creative with everything and even *gasp* downsize! Back in Hawaii I had an entire chest dedicated to fabric. It was a nice little chest and we still have it, however now it’s being used as part of the office . Which just means it has our printer sitting on it and it’s located beside the computer and it’s now being used to store a large amount of my husbands military gear.
Saddened by my sudden realization of how little storage space this small apartment has, I surfed the web and came across this gem of a post at MaryJanes and Galoshes. This was perfect! Continue reading

Yesterday my husband comes home from work with a gift card to Jo-Ann Fabrics. Recently we got into a little argument, typical married couple thing haha, and he felt bad so this was a little “I’m sorry” gift. He can be such a sweetheart. Yano, a strong marriage isn’t built upon always getting along, it’s built upon realizing when you messed up and being strong enough to say your sorry and move past it. Not saying I’m never wrong 😛 I just usually say my sorry’s with his favorite strawberry candies or some other favorite food of his.
So back on topic, we went to the store and I really wanted a loom set. Continue reading

I just finished knitting a pretty awesome toy hammock for my little one. Unfortunatly there were a couple bumps along the way (i.e.: little one pulled my knitting needle from the thing at one point). Also I got side tracked a lot so stitches were improperly knitted. However, all that being said it actually turned out pretty well!
