My husband loves his strawberry candies. This isn’t to mention the box of Salt Water Taffy I recently got for him on a little family vacation while he was in training.
I’m not sure about some of you, but I find the colorfulness of candy to be extremely visually appealing and just makes a space friendly. However, aside from a collection of jars that I hadn’t taken goo-gone to yet, I had nowhere to display this candy and I really didn’t want to go with the generic bowl. Thus my little lizard jar with feet was born!
Yes, you heard me.
This is a tutorial for using those weird-looking PomPom makers. I’ve seen and heard from many people that they have seen them in stores but never really thought twice about them. Well I’m here to show you how amazing these things are!
Their Clover brand and I’m using regular Worsted weight yarn. You can use any type of yarn or whatever will wrap around.
Pcs season is coming up. Just 2 short months until we move from Hawaii to the east coast. Am I stressing? Haha, you bet your bottom I am! So much to do! I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that there’s much to be done or the fact that the military won’t let us schedule ANYTHING until 30 days before we leave. You would think they would let you at least have things scheduled and tickets bought 2 months in advance. 😦 Then they tell me I need to relax… Psh!
So aside from the major project that my husband and I are currently finishing (more on that later) I have been doing a couple little projects here an there to use up some of the wood we can’t take with us.
First up is a very awesome door plaque chalkboard style! Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the finished product due to it being a gift to a very awesome couple 🙂 However I did take some how to photos.
This is what the pallet board piece looked like before I fixed it.
The baby blanket. This is the second part of the cuddle blanket I posted about earlier. A few more photos this time 🙂 So, I realized that I didn’t have any quilt or blanket binding so I had to improvise. Also, I didn’t really want to use batting because I didn’t want to make it super thick. Instead, I used fusible fleece. Since this is a small cuddle blanket and not a huge quilt I figured I could get away with these. I’m not sure how they would work on a full quilt. So first I cut the backing and interfacing to the size of the quilted top. Then, I fused the fleece (interfacing) to the quilted top. In my head this seemed like it would help with the longevity of the blanket. After that put the backing and quilted top Right Sides Together and pin.
