We just moved from a small 995 sq ft second floor apartment into a 1000 sq ft house. Still a rental but no more behind the wall neighbors! The square-footage may not seem like that big of a jump, except when you consider that the extra building out back with electric and the garage do not count as “living space” and thus is not counted into the square footage, it’s actually a pretty big place…. well…. big for me. Three bedrooms, a small but open kitchen, living room, den, and small “mud” area going out to the half an acre of fenced in back yard. The front yard is also partially fenced aside from one corner that we will probably get to fixing since it only needs two squares of chain-link fence and a gate to attach to the other gate.
Now I’m not bragging by any means when I say all that. This is still a rental and there’s still only so much we can do but we do have SIGNIFICANTLY more options here than at the old apartment.

Since my husband has been away for training for a while I’ve been procrastinating on house stuff slowly meandering my way through projects. I have this horrible habit of spending hours gawking through projects on Ravelry and CraftGawker. Then I’ll get a couple I like and head on over to Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michaels. Now I have a huge list of projects and I’m ever so slowly getting them done. Kind of.
This was my first attempt at a wallet/clutch.
I wanted to post this simply to show that practice makes perfect (even though I still am not amazing at clutches). Your first project may not be perfect but don’t let that get you down. I may not be that great at these but my daughters wardrobe is the envy of lots of mom’s I’ve talked to around where I live. The tutorial for the clutch came from HERE. Of course I made a few modifications…. well, mainly just that I didn’t use a patchwork front because I wanted to keep it simple for a first one.
